I received this book from the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This comic book centres around Grumpy- a famous meme that is the best thing ever- and her brother Pokey. Grumpy, being exactly as her name describes her prefers napping and seeing the world burn…figuratively speaking. I think. Pokey comes up with these crazy ideas and often involves Grumpy who is reluctant at first but relents because she might see another character cry, and this brings her joy.

The fact that an internet meme has been made into a comic books makes me so happy, I can’t stop smiling. From the first page I was laughing and my eyes were tearing because of how could it was. Grumpy’s sarcasm gets me every time. I’d even go as far as to say that there is never a dull moment with her. Irony at it’s best.

The writing style of this comic was fantastic and Grumpy was so in character it was unbelievable. Cats are usually lazy and prefer doing nothing all day, which is Grumpy exactly, but Pokey is so active and joyous that you can’t help but go along with his crazy plans.

The artwork was amazing and I could stare at it all day. Great collection, I must say. My favourite part was the end of Treasure Map. Favourite story as a whole, Detective Cats. I really hope we get to see more of Grumpy and Pokey’s adventures.
